Wednesday - We left home at noon because we had to stop in KC to get re-fingerprinted for the adoption...no lines, yes! Then we continued on across Kansas...ok, so this day was pretty boring but we made it to Burlington Colorado (just in the Colorado border) and stayed the night in a hotel.
Thursday - Up, not too early, and on the road again. The goal today was to get to Utah and we did. But I always forget how beautiful it is to drive I-70 across Colorado - at least the part from Denver on. It's also fun to see the mountains growing in the distance. We stopped along the way for shopping, lunch, and a few roadside parks to stretch our legs. Here was one of our favorite pictures.
We made it to Utah and in fact started south to head to Arches National Park, our first destination. We took a very small highway south and for awhile thought we weren't getting any where then all of a sudden we started seeing beautiful landscapes, again along the Colorado River. These pictures were taken on the road to Arches and the city of Moab.
In fact, we got to the Moab area earlier than expected and were able to visit the park for a little while before dark. Here are some of our first pictures in Arches National Park...I will try to spare you, we take ALOT of pictures, I am picking just a few favorites.
We camped that night along the Colorado River, outside the park. It was a little warmer than we expected and a little difficult to sleep but driving all day does make you tired.
I am going to start posting day by day now since it's easier to move the pictures around.
