Get this, for the past four months I have been stewing over what we will name this baby if it is a girl. I have thrown practically every girl name at Chris that I even remotely like and he cannot agree. Sometimes he grunts, sometimes he says "no", and sometimes he says "I'll have to think about it". The only one he has choosen is Brooke, which I have said would be a great middle name but is not my choice for a first name.
Well today, he walks into the room completely out of the blue and says I like Isabel (which is the name we have picked out for the baby from China - which is not an option for this baby obviously) and ______. (I'm not telling you the other name in case I jinx it) He picks out the name that has been my #1 list for the past 7 years or so! It's the perfect name - I've always known that, but he has always been against it. It hasn't even been a "I'll have to think about it", it's always been a "no". He's said it's too old fashioned, and that it will be like we named her after that one person, and I can't think of a middle name to go with it...whatever he could come up with but always "no". Then all of a sudden today its THE name!
I asked him why the sudden change of heart and he tells me he's always liked this name he just couldn't think of a middle name to go with it....which, for the record, is not true. I said what about ______ Brooke, and he says "Yeah, I like that". Then I ask, what about her being named after that one person, and he says "I like that person, I would have dated her if I had the opportunity". Whatever...(and trust me, he would have never had the opportunity - both in timing and his chances).
Needless to say I think we have a girls name picked out now, and I guess we have had all along he just didn't want me to know. I'll let you know what it is after we find out if it's a boy or a girl in 13 days.
