We can't decide if his schedule gets messed up on the weekends, he's teething, it's a growth spurt, or he just isn't getting enough to eat. I have had a hard time lately keeping up with his feeding demands so, despite my hesitations, we have decided to start trying to give him a little cereal in the evening to see if that will calm him down. He has been acting like he's ready...he watches what we eat, he puts everything in his mouth, he acts like he's chewing, all signs point to it being the right time.
Tonight was the first night of 1 tablespoon of rice cereal to 4 tablespoons of breastmilk. He seemed to love it. He had no problem eating all of it and left barely anything on his face or bib. Several times he lunged for the spoon like he was starving to death. I think we made the right decision. Although, after dinner he was still fussy and not wanting to sleep...maybe they are unrelated, I am open to suggestions if anyone has any.

When I saw him tonight, in his high chair, eating from a spoon, I realized again how fast he is growing up. Sometimes he seems so old! Last night I noticed that he looks so much bigger in his crib. He used to lay on a waterproof pad in the center of the crib and would barely cover the whole thing, now only his bottom fits on the pad. We've also stopped swaddling which makes him look so much older...my baby is growing up and he's only 16 weeks old...what happens when he turns 16 years old?????
