Ode to Linda and The Princess Bride

I Love Linda! She's a very dear friend - one that now lives in land far, far, away - and I miss her very much...

In an e-mail communication regarding recent events in my life, she shared this "Random thought from The Princess Bride". This shows why I love her so much....she speaks my language.

"Random thought from The Princess Bride: When Buttercup heard that her Wesley was taken by the Dread Pirate Roberts, she knew he was dead, "for the Dread Pirate Roberts never takes prisoners alive." In her despair she pronounced, "I will never love again."

Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around. Prov 13:12 The Message

When Wesley returned, he asked her how she could throw her life away by marrying Prince Humperdink, when they had True Love. "Well....you were dead," she faltered."Death can't keep apart a love like this," he tenderly reproved.

I want you to know that I know it's been really hard...still is. I care. I know the Lord loves you. It's True Love. And even death can't separate you from it. Love, Linda"

That's so good! I hope it speaks to you, wherever you are...

Another favorite memory from my favorite Linda...one evening, I was staying at her home for a sleepover. When I retired to my room she told me..."Sleep well, for I may have to kill you in the morning." That's funny! Although...when I repeat it to my guests, they don't laugh.

If you didn't laugh, you need to rewatch The Princess Bride.

Thanks Linda - I appreciate you and I hope you are living Happily Ever After in your land of far, far, away.
