Christmas Decorations

We have had our decorations up since before Thanksgiving but I haven’t had a good time to take pictures and post them, so now is the time.  Casper likes to look at the ornaments, and he’s pretty good about not touching them…he thinks they’re “hot”, he thinks everything he’s not supposed to touch is “hot”.  The one he’s looking at in the first picture is a Hallmark Olympic Torch ornament from 1996 and the torch flickers.  Casper was saying “fire, hot”.  In the second picture, he’s looking at a Hallmark Rudolph ornament where Rudolph’s nose lights up.  After I pushed the button he pointed to the nose and said “hot”, this is his favorite word!

I went with a Nativity theme on the mantle this year, this nativity was made by Chris’s mom for us a couple of years ago and I think it’s lovely.  The needlepoint on the right says “On the very first Christmas night, a twinkling star shone big and bright.  It marked the spot where Jesus lay, God’s gift to all that Christmas day.”  I’m pretty sure it was “Made in China” and not homemade, but I still think it’s sweet.  The stocking holders spell JOY but it’s kind of hard to read in the picture.  On the right, that’s my little angel!!
